Georgia Cross - Conyers 12/5/2009

As part of my second round of rephocusing, I've finally dug through some of the "self-assignments" I have given myself over the last few months...especially my first cyclocross race. This was one of my first sporting events since leaving newspapers where I didn't feel the pressure to "cover" the event. Here are a few of my selects, let me know what you think.

Very Petit LeMans 2009

After 3yrs of living within 2hrs of Road Atlanta, I finally had the opportunity to get to the biggest racing event for us endurance sports car enthusiasts! I went as a fan and less of a photographer, but its hard to hold back 100% and not TRY at least alittle. These are a few of my best from the day...

RePhocusing

Much has happened in the last seven months! From new staffer at large paper to unemployed "photographer" / stay at home Dad.

I now live in Atlanta with my son and better half trying to find the best way to find myself as a photographer in order to lay a foundation for this great career I see for myself, while still paying the bills, being a great Dad and doting partner.

I find myself perusing website upon website getting pretty discouraged about where I stand presently as a photographer in an ever growing sea of colleagues, with where I'm 90% sure I could be standing. But alas, I am HERE, and here is where I'll be and from here is where that "great career" has to come from...so off we go RePhocusing yet again.

Downtown Greenville Cycling Classic

I had the chance to spend a little bit of time working the criterium held as part of the Fall for Greenville event. It is always nice to get the chance to shoot something you're in to...here is a few of my favorites.

So It Begins...

Well it has been well over three months since my last post and man have things changed. Not only is the whole family reunited in Greenville, SC, but after a two month stint working part-time at a Wolf Camera and freelancing I landed my first full-time position with the Greenville News.

Seven years since the beginning and nearly a year working full-time but as a lowly intern position, I'm now a legit professional staff photojournalist...w/ benefits too!
